Excellent history book about Australia's jungle war with the Japanese.

A. B. Feuer uses first hand accounts coupled with his excellent style to bring you this down to earth, gritty, as-is account of a very brave group of Australians who, with the help of the US Navy Submarine Force, waged guerrilla war against the Japanese during World War II.

Facing disease, weather, natives of questionable loyalty, and of course the fierce Japanese enemy, these men were always outnumbered, always behind the lines, and always being hunted.  Facing beheading if captured, they nevertheless were a constant thorn in the enemy side, tying down superior Japanese forces who were tasked with eliminating them.  A. B. Feuer brings the reader into the action, not only relaying the fear and uncertainty of the operations, but also the camaraderie and occasional humor that the men experienced as well.  A must-read for any WWII history buff.
